This and That
Ah, this week was back to normal and I’m happy to report that everyone in our house is healthy! We’re planning a quiet weekend as we begin preparations for hosting Thankgiving next week. Here are a few things that caught my attention this week.
This Welsh band covers popular songs, with a bluegrass twist. Be sure to check out all of their videos!
Historic photographs in color. Some are graphic.
Jon Hamm takes on Russian lit. (And the British reporter mentioned “Texas University,” but it’s really the University of Texas.)
Margaret Atwood on Doris Lessing.
Generation Xers should know these references. (For the record, I’m technically too young for this category, but just barely.)
I always feel this way in IKEA.
And since it’s Friday, I can has pizza.
Have a wonderful weekend!

I’m so glad everyone in your house is healthy.
The Gen X slideshow was really fascinating. I’m always interested in the differences between generations. While my parents are classic baby boomers, my husband’s parents are generation x-ers, and I think being raised by different generations often gives us different perspectives on things.
Nukes at Bikini Atoll are even more horrifying in color. :-/
That is really interesting about the different generations. My parents are baby boomers, too, but they had us later than most of my friends’ parents. I’m the oldest, but when I was growing up, all of my friends were the youngest in their families.
I agree that those pictures are more frightening in color. It somehow makes it seem more real.
