Rainy Day Blues
We promised the boys a trip to Wildseed Farms this fall to “pick” (as in, choose from those on display) pumpkins for Halloween, so we finally made good on our word, despite the steady rain Sunday. It was warm and humid, and I went back and forth deciding what to wear. Finally, I settled on my trusty homemade boyfriend jeans, an old polka-dot blouse from Anthropologie that I dressed up with my newish necklace, and my fabulous rock star boots, which have become my favorite pair of shoes and kept my feet dry through all the puddles we encountered.
Blue seemed to be the color of the day, and I found quite a few images to inspire me on our little trip. I’ll share pictures of the pumpkin picking later in the week, but here are some lovely blue hues to brighten up this rainy week.
The rain really made the bright colors stand out, and Fredericksburg missed the brunt of the Texas drought this summer, so everything is green and in full bloom. We had a lovely time, and I’ll post the actual pumpkin pictures tomorrow.

You look cute! I’ve been wanting to take pictures of some weeds growing out behind our house — they have these tiny purple flowers on them, and even though they’re just weeds, they make me remember that there’s beauty in everything. 🙂
I think I’ve seen those purple weeds, too. Sometimes they have the prettiest flowers!
That archway looks magical!
I know! We pretty much had the place to ourselves in the rain.
