Picture Prompt

Though blogging is my creative outlet, I don’t do a lot of actual creative writing. I thought it might be fun to challenge myself a little with a visual writing prompt using photographs from Death to the Stock Photo.  I chose two pictures from this month’s pack and used them as a jumping off point for this short poem. I’m hoping to try this experiment periodically, and I hope you enjoy this first installment.

Sitting here

in the sunlight

as my friends fill the room,

I think of days gone by

like old movies,

a slow song playing in the background.

It is warm

and I am happy,

the sun shining on my face.
