Variations on a Theme
Fall has finally arrived in Central Texas and the weather is cooling down. I’ve settled into a uniform for the coming months, and I thought I’d share a few of my recent everyday outfits. As always, they are essentially the same items, mixed together in different, basic pairings.
You’ve already seen my first official fall outfit, which I wore for our rainy day adventure last weekend. I paired an old Anthropologie top with my homemade boyfriend jeans and my new booties, which are now my favorite pair of shoes. I added a sparkly necklace for a bit of interest, and this look inspired my new fall uniform.
Here’s the exact same outfit with the very same Anthropologie top in a different colorway. I bought these blouses last year in several different colors, and they are still holding up well. I tend to wear my clothes until they wear out, so I get a lot of use from older pieces. I wore this outfit to drop off the boys at school, take the car in for maintenance, and have lunch with Ryan.
Same song, third verse. I wore this outfit to drive James back and forth from gymnastics, and since it was so warm, I threw on a pair of black flats in place of the boots.
And just to mix things up a little, I wore the same top in yet another colorway with an ivory lace skirt and booties to get pizza with Ryan’s family. Instead of the sparkly necklace, I wore a new bracelet my mom gave me, which is hard to see, but also really shiny. This outfit is a remix of one I wore to Alt Summit in January, and the skirt is probably six years old now. I love how versatile it is, and the boots look a little unexpected with the lacy skirt.
I basically wear the same exact thing every single day, but I switch out the key pieces to keep things fun and interesting. For warmth, I can add a cardigan, longer pants, and socks (or tights with the skirt) as the weather gets colder.

I especially love the third shirt!
Thanks! You can’t tell in the picture, but it has some lace embellishment on the shoulders.
