The View From Here: Your Ideal Reader
Our weekend was nice and long. We celebrated Rhys’ third birthday with friends and family, and I caught up on some much-needed sleep. I’ve been burning the candle at both ends lately, and I’m trying to be better about that.
This week’s question is: What Is Your Ideal Reader Like?
To be perfectly honest, I welcome any and all readers, but from the comments I get from regular readers, I think my ideal reader is a lot like me. I’d say my blog is for women in their mid-20s and beyond, and I’m sure some of my post topics appeal to mothers, specifically. I don’t like to think of myself as strictly a mommy blogger, only because I started this blog to have a creative outlet outside the realm of child-rearing. But I know the things I write about tend to resonate with fellow moms, and that is totally fine.
When I think of a topic to write about, it’s really because I’m interested in the subject, and I try to go about it in a way that I hope is interesting to other people, too. I’m not a big blogger by any means, and I don’t have troops of loyal followers, so that fact gives me room to explore different interests and topics other bloggers might not feel comfortable writing about. Take my recent political posts, for instance.
My ultimate goal with blogging is to have fun and feel a bit fulfilled creatively, and hopefully I’ll encourage a few readers along the way, too.

I like the idea that being a smaller blogger allows for more freedom — I never thought of it that way, but I think it’s very true!
Definitely, because you aren’t bound by sponsors and expectations.
