Uniformity
Normally when I take outfit photos, the process is complicated. It involves the tripod, a remote control, lots of different poses, plus me running back and forth to adjust the camera as I go. Oh, and I’m usually dressed up and cinched in, posing for some imaginary or future event, with lots of red lipstick and powder to make my face look nice and bright.
Just for fun, I thought it would be interesting to document a week’s worth of my everyday outfits with my phone’s camera. The stuff I wear to drop the boys off at school, take them to the park, or run errands. I started the project on a Friday recently, but forgot to take a picture the next day. Still, I kept going, and what follows are the the outfits I wore over the course of a regular week in my life. It’s nothing glamorous at all, and you’ll notice a pattern here, too. I took all of the pictures in the morning before heading out the door, and though it’s hard to tell, my hair is washed and styled, and I do have makeup on. This is me in real life.

(Friday: Wearing one of my patterned button-ups from Anthropologie, on the way to a morning appointment.)

(Sunday: In a shirt (similar) by LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s, on the way to a lakeside park.)

(Monday: In a top by Garnet Hill. Mondays are reserved for catching up after the weekend, and maybe visiting a local park.)

(Tuesday: In the same style shirt as Monday, ready to do some heavy-lifting volunteer work while the boys are in school.)

(Wednesday: Wearing a vintage-style blouse from ModCloth, for a morning appointment.)

(Thursday: Wearing a tee from Anthropologie. I added a sweater for the boys’ school music program.)

(Along with some style of jeans, I wore these shoes by LC Lauren Conrad every day.)
I realize that I need a full-length mirror, but I’ve made do without one all these years. While I do sometimes mix things up with skirts and dresses, especially in warmer weather, I am essentially a t-shirt and jeans girl. I like tops with a little bit of detail, and I favor simple jeans in a darker wash. I’m also excited that my hair finally appears to be growing out!
So this is me in my regular uniform, without the bells and whistles, but smelling of delicious perfume. And now that I’ve shown you, I feel the need to do a full-blown photo shoot soon!
Do you have a daily uniform?

I LOVE this post! These outfits are all so cute and I like them because they’re pulled together but real! Please do more of these.
Thank you! I will definitely try to do more of these, maybe one for summer could come next. I need to get a full-length mirror, too. 🙂
I love seeing people’s everyday outfits! You’re so pulled-together and stylish — I think mine would involve a lot more yoga pants. 🙂
Thank you! I start off the day like this, but I do change into shorts or yoga pants depending on the weather and what I’m doing. 😛
I love this! Honest posts like this are the best – and I think you look wonderful in all these outfits!
Hi, Catherine! I hate taking pictures of myself, but my fashion posts are always popular, so I need to do more, I guess. 🙂
Love, love, love those shoes.
Thank you! They are so comfy.
Cute camels!!!
I love how you pointed out the purpose of each outfit – something I definitely need to do on my blog. Can’t go wrong with denim in a dark wash, right?
And your hair is lovely. 🙂
Thanks so much, October! I always try to keep the day’s activities in mind, as well as the weather, and that helps me plan my outfits. My hair is getting there!
you have a cute and colorful top collection, girl! my weekday non-fashion blogging outfits look nothing like this. my favorite is Wednesday…you look genuinely happy and your hair is so pretty. BTW: can you give me selfie lessons?! 🙂
I have seen you during the week, Miss Donna, and you always look gorgeous! 🙂
