Short Clips: “Call the Midwife” and “Xiao Xiao”
Watch Behind the Scenes – Working with Babies on PBS. See more from Call the Midwife.
I’ve watched the first two episodes of Call the Midwife on PBS, and I am in love. It’s such a charming show, and I’ve literally been moved to tears by the stories of the women each week. The midwives themselves are so sweet and truly eager to help, and when a young prostitute tells one, “God love your innocence, Nurse Jenny Lee,” I couldn’t help but smile. The series is incredibly respectful of birthing moms, babies, and birth in general, and I love this clip about the babies from the show. Producer Hugh Warren’s words are especially touching, I think. I hope you will check out Call the Midwife, which airs Sunday evenings on PBS.
KUT 90.5, my local public radio station, recently added Snap Judgment to its lineup. I heard this moving story on the show last weekend while I was getting ready, and I couldn’t keep my eyes dry as I put on my makeup. This account captures the power of true love in a little under six minutes, and I promise it will make your day!

Ok. The tears won’t stop coming now…
I know. Isn’t it amazing? I cry every time I hear it.
